About Us

We are the national We The People Congress organization.

We The People of Congress was incorporated for the purpose of holding government in the State of New York accountable to the rule of law, from our federal and state Constitutions on down. See our Certificate of Incorporation.

In 2014, this organization and website was placed on an inactive status due primarily to the need to focus on the federal government’s contemptuous, but understandable, stepped-up effort to silence and put an end to the national organization’s epic struggle to restore the Rights of the People and the obligations of the Government under the Petition Clause of the First Amendment.

In addition, the organization had suffered the loss of Michael Bodine, it’s beloved IT practitioner who passed suddenly at age 53.

The national organization’s struggle to shift the ultimate power in our society from the government back to the People where it was intended to reside in the first place is indeed epic, marked by plenty of action and difficulties.

WTP-NY is focused exclusively on holding Government in New York State accountable to the provisions of America’s Charters of Freedom – i.e., the Declaration of Independence and our Constitutions, the New York State Constitution and the United States Constitution.

We intend to institutionalize citizen vigilance - the practice of monitoring Government policy-making, from the State level down through our Counties, Cities, Towns, Villages and School Districts, and challenging the Government when it appears to have stepped outside the boundaries the People have drawn around its power by the terms of our Charters of Freedom.
We believe actions speak louder than words. As expressed in our Certificate of Incorporation, we rely on the exercise and enforcement of our Right to Petition the Government for Redress of Grievances, a natural Right guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Article I of the Constitution for the State of New York.

For the meaning of the Right to Petition we rely on the Historical Record of the Right which teaches that Government is obligated to respond to Petitions for Redress, with every Right there is a Remedy and any Right that is not enforceable is not a Right.

Thus, if Government does not provide a meaningful response to our Petitions, the Petitions will be turned over to the legal staff in our Citizen’s Vigilance Center who will investigate and recommend a course of action for our Supporting Members to implement, including as necessary “Redress before taxes.”

America’s Charters of Freedom are about power – between the People and the Government. Government in New York State has gotten too big for its constitutionally-laced britches. It has stepped outside the boundaries the People have drawn around its power, taking possession of a boundless field of power.

We need a significant shift in the ultimate power in our society, from the Government to the People where it was intended to reside in the first place.

The path forward requires the courage of our convictions.

Quote of the Week

If money is wanted by Rulers who have in any manner oppressed the People, they may retain it until their grievances are redressed, and thus peaceably procure relief, without trusting to despised petitions or disturbing the public tranquility.
